Distribution Principles for Midland Legal Support Trust fundraising events
Legal advice charities
If you are a legal advice charity taking part in one of our fundraising events, 100% of the funds that you raise may be kept by your charity. In addition to this the MLST will match fund any amount raised by advice charities (up to £1,000) as an unrestricted funds grant.
Law Firms and other organisations
If you are taking part in one of our fundraising events, you may nominate a free legal advice charity to receive 50% of the funds you raised, which the trustees, in their discretion, may permit. This nomination must be of a free legal advice service which is a charity registered with the Charity Commission and you must demonstrate or explain the connection between your organisation and your nominated charity. If the nomination is approved by the trustees, in their discretion, the MLST will be the recipient of the remaining 50%. If approval is not given, then the MLST will receive 100% of the funds raised.
Online funds
All money donated through your online fundraising page will automatically be paid to the MLST. The MLST will then pass these funds to your charity without deduction.
Offline funds
All funds raised offline also need to be sent to the MLST, along with any completed gift aid forms. These can be sent to MLST, c/o Access to Justice Foundation, 48 Chancery Lane, London, WC2A 1JF.
